Site Selection magazine has named the Baton Rouge Area Chamber one of the nation’s top ten economic development organizations for the second year in a row, BRAC announced today. The ranking, which does not designate a specific position, is based on new jobs, new jobs per 10,000 residents, the total amount of new investment, and new investment per 10,000 residents, as well as subjective attributes such as innovation, leadership and customer service, the chamber says. “This honor is a great tool to have as we continue to convince companies to invest in the Capital Region,” says BRAC President Adam Knapp. “It adds third-party authenticity to the story that we are telling about the area.” BRAC says it assisted on 20 successful projects in 2010, one of its highest annual totals ever, helping secure 782 jobs and generate over $30 million in payroll and approximately $833 million in new capital investment.
