Six proposals have been submitted to the LSU Real Estate and Facilities Foundation to lead the planned restoration of the six-lake system at City Park and LSU.
The University Lakes Project Management Committee is expected to choose one of the six firms to serve as the project adviser by Jan. 17, the university says in a news release today.
Details of the submitted proposals are being withheld until the committee makes its selection. The RFP does not include a budget for the position. The project adviser will be expected to recommend what the design, engineering, and landscaping should be, as well as the qualifications for the engineering firm and make sense of the funding.
The six proposals include seven Louisiana-based firms; some are included in teams with national and international firms.
They are:
• A joint team of Ankura Consulting Group LLC (national), Commonwealth James LLC (Mandeville), Sherman Strategies LLC (New Orleans), and Miles Granderson LLC (New Orleans).
• A joint team of Brailsford & Dunlavey (Washington, D.C.) and CSRS Inc. (Baton Rouge).
• Bob Jacobsen PE LLC (Baton Rouge).
• Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Inc. (national).
• A joint team of Partners in Energy LLC (Baton Rouge) and Providence Engineering and Environmental Group LLC (Baton Rouge).
• A joint team of Stantec (national) and KPMG LLP (national).
A designer is expected to be chosen this spring, followed by hiring a contractor for dredging and construction by January 2021. The project is expected to cost at least $50 million.
“We feel good about the response,” Sara Whittaker, spokeswoman for the LSU Real Estate and Facilities Foundation, which is handling the procurement part of the project, said Friday before the proposal deadline.
