G. Lee Griffin will become interim president and CEO of the LSU Foundation July 1, the LSU Foundation Board of Directors announced today. Griffin will succeed Maj. Gen. William Bowdon, who will retire June 30 after almost seven years of leading the foundation. Bowdon announced his retirement March 3.
Griffin is the retired chairman and CEO of Bank One of Louisiana, now Chase, and will serve until the position is filled. Gary Laborde, chairman-elect of the LSU Foundation Board of Directors, will lead the search and hiring process, which is expected to take six to eight months.
