G. Lee Griffin, who was named interim president and CEO of the LSU Foundation in April, will remain with the foundation indefinitely, foundation spokeswoman Sara Crow says. She says the board of directors has decided to remove the “interim” tag, and the search for Griffin’s replacement has been postponed for at least several months. Griffin will be working with the board on a strategic plan for the foundation. “If somebody’s going to develop a strategy, they want to be able to implement that strategy,” she says. “And that takes time.” Officially, Griffin’s tenure began July 1, after Maj. Gen. Bill Bowdon’s retirement, although Crow says Griffin began coming in part-time a few weeks before. Griffin is the retired chairman and CEO of Bank One of Louisiana, which is now Chase. He joined the foundation’s board in 1981. —David Jacobs
