Louisiana received its highest ranking yet in an annual listing of the top pro-business states by Pollina Corporate Real Estate Inc., a brokerage and consulting firm representing corporations in real estate matters. Louisiana rose to No. 16 this year, climbing 24 spots in Pollina’s ranking since 2008. The state rankings are based on 32 factors Pollina weighted to reflect its corporate clients’ requirements in selecting sites. “Louisiana has improved to its highest-ever position in every major national ranking of state business climates, including those published by Area Development, Business Facilities, CNBC, Forbes, Pollina, Site Selection and Chief Executive,” reads a statement from LED. Gov. Bobby Jindal says in the same statement that Louisiana has committed itself to making the business climate here better for companies to relocate to and expand in the state. “Our work to cut burdensome business taxes, overhaul ethics laws, and rein in government spending is paying off,” Jindal says. Detailed copies of the Pollina Corporate Top 10 Pro-Business States Report are not distributed for free. However, you can look at an overview of the list and see the top ranked states—or purchase a copy of the full list for $29, if you’re so inclined—here. —Adam Pearson
