A smartphone app developed by a Baton Rouge cosmetic surgeon that allows potential customers to price procedures and make appointments is set to go global. BuildMyBod will be launched in England, Ireland and Israel in the next month, says Dr. Jonathan Kaplan. Kaplan, who operates the Center for Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, introduced the free app in February. He says taking the product worldwide was natural, based on the initial response. The app, now available for the iPhone and iPad and soon to be available for Android devices, allows customers to look up licensed cosmetic surgeons and get a complete estimate on a plastic surgery procedure, including such charges as operating room time and other fees. About two dozen surgeons from across the U.S. are listed in BuildMyBod.
