Baton Rouge civil contractor and concrete services company Five-S Group will build a helicopter hangar, offices and storage for purchase and use along Highland Road.
The 10-acre project, located between Jefferson and Airline highways, will serve companies with helicopters, providing a storage space, says Ty Harvison, vice president of development for Five-S Group. Organizations can also buy lots and build their offices on the site.
The site will include a two-lot helicopter hangar and an FAA-approved landing site.
There is no official timeline for the project, which will be built as lots sell. Harvison expects selling to begin in a month or two.
Earlier this month, an application for the project was filed with the East Baton Rouge Planning Commission, which will consider it at its Aug. 20 meeting. The project does not need Metro Council approval to move forward.
The Five-S Group’s headquarters is currently located on the property, which was purchased in April for $1.9 million from Highland Road Investments LLC.
