An essay by local author M.O. Walsh will be published Sunday in the “Lives” section of The New York Times. Walsh writes about taking a stand over a sewer project in his yard as a way of regaining power over his life, which has been stress-filled since he became a father and then lost his teaching job at LSU as a result of budget cuts. “I just want my family to be proud of me, I guess, to think I have things under control,” Walsh writes.
