Co-Owner, Fertility & Family • Vice President and Executive Director, Louisiana Fertility Alliance

Katie Minor Bliss saw a gap between the way families are formed and the laws protecting them. So she helped change the law.

In 2025, the fertility attorney spearheaded legislation modernizing Louisiana’s IVF statutes, working with state Sen. Thomas Pressly on changes that clarified embryo donation procedures, strengthened IVF agreements and expanded protections for providers. Her legal practice became a platform for reform.

As co-owner of Fertility & Family, she advises families on IVF consent agreements, donor contracts and intrafamily adoptions. She also helped establish the Louisiana Fertility Alliance, serving as vice president and executive director to bring families, physicians and policymakers into the same conversation.

Her work for families extends beyond fertility care. Bliss raised more than $1 million for Hogs for the Cause and helped bring the Hogs House at Our Lady of the Lake to completion, giving families a home away from home while their children receive medical care.

What younger professionals misunderstand about leadership: “Leadership often costs you something. It means putting the team ahead of your own comfort, absorbing pressure, taking responsibility and sometimes making personal sacrifices so the people you lead have the support and opportunity they need to succeed.”
