Tim Barfield, head of the Louisiana Workforce Commission, has been named as the chief lawyer and legal advisor to Gov. Bobby Jindal. Barfield, the former president and chief operating officer for the Shaw Group, will become executive counsel. He replaces Jimmy Faircloth, who resigned last week in order to run for a seat on the state Supreme Court. “Tim has done an incredible job revamping our workforce development programs, and he brings a wealth of legal and business experience to the executive counsel position,” Jindal says. Barfield, a former Business Report Forty Under 40 winner, who was named Young Businessman of the Year in 2004, earned a bachelor’s in business administration and a law degree from LSU.

Curt Eysink, who had been Barfield’s chief of staff and press secretary, will take over as head of the workforce commission. Eysink, a former city editor with The Advocate and a Business Report Forty Under 40 winner, earned a bachelor’s in journalism from LSU.
