Gov. Bobby Jindal has submitted his capital construction proposal for fiscal 2012, which includes more than $72 million for Capital Region projects. The biggest project would be $14 million for a Louisiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory in East Baton Rouge parish, followed by $13 million for widening Interstate 12 from O’Neal Lane to Walker. Other projects slated for funding include $8 million for the second phase of the Animal and Food Science Facilities Renovations and Modernizations at the LSU AgCenter in East Baton Rouge, $7 million for replacement and renovations of HVAC systems at the State Capitol, $6.82 million for the Louisiana Digital Media Facility in East Baton Rouge, $3.75 million for the Choppin Hall Annex Chemistry Lab Building at LSU and $3.3 million for the Business Education Complex at LSU.
