Gov. Bobby Jindal added to his campaign war chest during the first quarter and has more than $9.5 million on hand for his re-election bid. Officials say Jindal raised $1.7 million during the first quarter and spent about $1.3 million. Jindal spent about $500,000 on a television advertising campaign that started in mid-March. Those spots hammered home Jindal’s commitment to creating jobs and his pledge not to raise taxes. Jindal ended 2010 with a campaign war chest of $9.2 million. The governor doesn’t have any declared opponents yet for the October election.
