Attorneys from Stanley, Frank & Rose, a Houston law firm, are holding a public meeting Saturday to meet with Stanford Group investors and financial advisers. The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Old State Capitol. Officials from the offices of Gov. Bobby Jindal, U.S. Sen. David Vitter and U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy have been invited to attend. Stanley has been involved in a lawsuit against the SEC and Stanford’s receiver to help release investor funds that were frozen. Officials with Stanley say the best chance for investors to recover their money is to join forces with Stanford financial advisors and pursue the assets of the firm’s entities.
Meanwhile, James Davis, Stanford’s chief financial officer, has promised full cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice and the SEC. Both firms are investigating the $8 billion investment fraud involving Stanford.
