The chairman of the board of directors for the University of New Orleans Foundation has come out in favor of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s request to study the governance structure of UNO. Thomas Kitchen sent a letter to newspapers that have schools in the LSU and Southern systems. “We believe that higher education overall and the state’s economy would be better served if UNO is grouped with its Louisiana peer institutions—Louisiana Tech University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette,” Kitchen says.
