Cornerstone Glass, formerly at the corner of Perkins Road and Acadian Thruway, has moved to Florida Boulevard as plans are under way to shave off a portion of the old location’s parking lot into a turn lane to help ease congestion at the intersection. Cornerstone’s old digs, a gas station in a previous incarnation, will soon disappear. The glass shop’s owner, Danny Robin, says he wasn’t able to re-lease the property due to the impending intersection improvements, and believes the remainder of the lot will be leased to the Acadian Village redevelopment that Commercial Properties Development Corporation has planned. Robin says he misses the old location, which got a lot of traffic, but enjoys being in a space four or five times larger. Cornerstone’s new home is in the old Baton Rouge Car Care building.—Steve Clark
