The competition among food delivery services is ramping up in Baton Rouge as the nation’s leading online and mobile food ordering company launches in the local market.

Chicago-based Grubhub, which is publicly traded under GRUB, announced this morning it has expanded to Baton Rouge and will compete with popular services such as UberEats and Waitr.

Baton Rouge is one of 34 new markets across 19 states—including Shreveport—for Grubhub. The company already operates in New Orleans.

The expansions were completed throughout the first quarter and are part of Grubhub’s plan to grow its delivery network to more than 100 new markets this year, the company says in a statement.

“These additional markets are part of our vision to connect more diners with even more of their favorite local restaurants across the country, and provide them with the widest selection of choice wherever they are,” says Stan Chia, Grubhub’s chief operating officer, in a statement.

Partnering restaurants include Buffalo Wild Wings, BJ’s Restaurants & Brewhouse, and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews. GrubHub also says it will be adding KFC and Taco Bell locations to its new markets in the coming months.

Grubhub connects diners with more than 80,000 restaurants in over 1,600 U.S. cities and London. Grubhub’s 2017 net income rose to $99 million, up from $49.6 million in 2016.
