A football scouting video for which LSU paid a controversial talent scout $6,000 was old and of low quality, according to ESPN. The network’s Outside the Lines program says the 32 DVDs that Willie Lyles provided LSU last fall showed players who were already playing Division I football at other schools and had poor-quality footage that failed to isolate or identify athletes. LSU says NCAA investigators have spoken with several members of its coaching staff about the payment to Lyles’ defunct Texas-based Complete Scouting Services. Earlier this week, the NCAA put LSU on one-year probation after finding the Tigers were guilty of major violations in the recruitment of defensive lineman Akiem Hicks. Lyles has been under investigation since it was revealed Oregon paid him $25,000 shortly after Lache Seastrunk, a highly touted running back he was tied to, committed to play for the Ducks. Today’s question: How concerned are you that LSU’s involvement with Willie Lyles will lead to further sanctions against the football program?
