NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Energy Partners Ltd. says it has gotten most of its lenders to extend the due date on a portion of its debt until April 14.

The New Orleans-based petroleum producer earlier reduced the size of its board of directors, hired a Houston firm to help it review strategic alternatives and appointed a restructuring officer after EPL’s founder left the company.

Last week, the company’s shares were removed from the New York Stock Exchange.
