Jan. 4: Following a rainy start to the new year—and a wet 2016 in general—WAFB Chief Meteorologist Jay Grymes will speak to business and community leaders about the weather at this week’s Rotary Club of Baton Rouge luncheon. The Rotary Club meets at noon at Drusilla Place Catering, 3482 Drusilla Lane, Suite D. Local media are invited to attend.

Jan. 5-6: You can still call LSU’s Department of Accounting—(225) 578-6202—to register for this week’s 2017 LSU Tax Seminar taking place at the E. J. Ourso College of Business Education Complex. The seminar focuses on current federal tax developments affecting tax returns for the coming season. The two-day event is designed for tax practitioners, lawyers, accountants, auditors and enrolled agents. Each day is worth eight CPE hours or 16 hours for both days. Registration costs $100 per day or $200 for both days. Get more information.
