Dollar General says it plans to open 625 stores in the upcoming year and hire 6,000 people. This is the latest phase in expansion for the discount retailer, which has seen increased business because of the recession. With the projected hiring, Dollar General will have created more than 15,000 jobs since 2009. Along with opening stores, Dollar General says it will “remodel or relocate” another 550 locations.
