The #NBR Now Blue Ribbon Commission tonight will unveil its plans for an emergency healthcare facility at The Offices at Champion Medical Center at 7855 Howell Blvd.
Commission members will meet with two Dallas-based companies—Next Health LLC and Cambridge Holdings Inc.—about opening an emergency medical facility in north Baton Rouge.
Executives from both companies will give a tour of the facility to local media to outline their plans for the facility, which is owned by Cambridge Holdings Inc.
Following the tour, the executives—Dennis E. Barnes, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Cambridge Holdings; Elize Pruske, vice president of leasing and development for Cambridge Holdings; and Josh Ihde, president of Next Health’s Hospital Division—will give presentations to the 70 invited guests to further outline their visions for the facility.
Those invited guests include local and state officials, health care advocates and health care providers.
Metro Councilwoman Chauna Banks-Daniel, who created the #NBR Now Blue Ribbon Commission, says those plans include turning some of the space with The Offices at Champion Medical Center into an emergency medical facility.
The 76,000-square-foot class A office building is home to Champion Medical Center, a small inpatient medical center with an orthopedic focus, and several smaller medical offices.
Banks-Daniel created the commission to take the lead on economic development and bringing an emergency medical facility to north Baton Rouge.
