Church buys Lobdell Avenue office building

Bible World Christian Center has purchased a 110,000-square-foot office building on Lobdell Avenue. The church paid $450,000 for the building near Choctaw Avenue, and the previous owners, MNS Ventures, donated $1.1 million toward the cost, according to a filing with the clerk of court’s office. Currently, Jehovah-Jireh Christian Academy occupies about one third of the building. Although the building is located only one street west of the church, it won’t be used for church purposes, says Branon Pesnell of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, who brokered the deal. Rather, Bible World plans to renovate the building and rent it out to other tenants as an investment. —Timothy Boone
