CenturyLink: No plans to leave Louisiana

When Monroe-based CenturyLink purchased Qwest Communications International, there was some hope in Denver this deal would lead the phone company to move its headquarters to Colorado. But The Denver Business Journal says that won’t happen. Glen Post, CenturyLink CEO, is featured in a half-page Wall Street Journal ad extolling the virtues of Louisiana. In the Louisiana Economic Development ad, Post says Louisiana is already a great place to do business “and it’s getting even better.” Post praises the state’s ethics laws, incentives, supportive business community and strong university partnerships. “It doesn’t sound like Post will be ordering Rocky Mountain oysters instead of the kind that come out of the water anytime soon,” says Mark Harden, an editor with the Business Journal.
