Today: A business networking session will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the LaCumba Play Den of the Smith-Brown Memorial Union on the Southern University campus.

Today: A community meeting on a proposed health district for north Baton Rouge will take place at 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 3912 Gus Young Ave.

Tuesday: Southern University’s Center for Rural and Small Business Development is hosting its 12th annual Connecting Businesses with Contracts Procurement Conference from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Cotillion Ballroom at the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union. Get more information. 

Tuesday: Bank On Baton Rouge will hosts a free workshop on repairing your credit at 5:30 p.m. at the Carver Branch Library, 720 Terrace St.

Tuesday: Attorney Charles Landry will be the guest speaker at a community meeting at 6 p.m. at 7373 Scenic Highway, hosted by Metro Councilwoman Tara Wicker and held in conjunction with the Community Against Drugs and Domestic Violence meeting. Landry will speak about starting an economic development district.

Tuesday: Sen. Regina Barrow will host a meeting on the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District at 6:30 p.m. at Bayou Cafe, 5068 Airline Highway.

Wednesday:  Executive-level sellers focused on business-to-business sales and marketing are invited to learn about the new Corporate Connections chapter forming in the Baton Rouge area. Friday: State Rep. Valerie Hodges, Chris Holton of the Center for Security Policy, and Claude Shelton of the Voice of the Martyrs are lined up as tentative speakers for ACT GBR’s 2 p.m. rally at the State Capitol, 900 N. Third St. The subject of the event is Christian persecution in the Middle East and Africa. Get more information. 

March 29: Retired CIA Analyst Peter Pry will address the Louisiana Public Service Commission on the subject of electrical grid security during a 9:30 a.m. meeting at the Galvez Building, 1201 North Third St., room B.
