Tuesday — The Baton Rouge Growth Coalition will hold a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at Juban’s to provide updates on the city-parish Green Light Project and the sanitary sewer overflow control program. Mayor Kip Holden will provide opening remarks on the update. Admission is $25. To register, click here.
Tuesday — The Foundation for Historical Louisiana will host its 35th annual awards dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Capitol Center. The event will honor the 2011 Preservation Award recipients: Elise Grenier, Leo Honeycutt and Brad Vogel. Special honors will also go to The Leach Family and The North American Land Company for restoration of the historic King Hotel, now the Indigo Hotel; Friends of St. Paul Church of Bayou Goula; members of the LSU Mass Communication Public Relations Capstone class; and Jane Davidson, an FHL volunteer. Tuesday — A FuturEBR open house will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church. This is the last chance for citizens to give input on the comprehensive master plan for land use and development in East Baton Rouge Parish before it is presented to the Planning Commission and Metro Council.
Thursday — The Disney Institute and LSU Executive Education are teaming up to offer a daylong seminar, “Disney’s Approach to Quality Service,” at the Baton Rouge Marriott. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The program will demonstrate how anticipating and reacting to customers’ needs, wants and emotions are integral aspects of delivering quality service. July 19 — LSU Chancellor Mike Martin will be the guest speaker at LSU’s Breakfast to Business Series, which will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m. in Café Americain.
