‘Business Report’ planner: Carl Kasell tonight … RIO ‘Innovation Take-Out’ Tuesday … TechX 2011 kicks off Wednesday

Today — National Public Radio veteran Carl Kasell will speak at 7 p.m. at the Holliday Forum in the Journalism Building on the LSU campus. Kasell will appear as part of NPR-affiliate 89.3 WRKF’s Distinguished Speakers Series in partnership with LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communications. Admission is free, and a limited number of seats may be reserved by calling 926-3050.

Tuesday — The Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Regional Innovation Organization will host it’s monthly “Innovation Take-Out” at The Lyceum on Third Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Speakers will include Mike Mozenter, president of JumpStart Community Advisors; and Kelley Boyd, entrepreneurial coach and founder of Early Adopter Market Specialist. Food will be provided, and there is also a cash bar. Free registration is available here.

Wednesday-Friday — The TechX 2011 conference will take place at the Baton Rouge River Center, featuring exhibitors, 100 classroom sessions and keynote addresses by representatives of Hewlett Packard, EM and Microsoft.
