Rod Miller, the executive vice president of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, has been named CEO of a new economic development alliance that will work to recruit businesses to New Orleans. Miller was named head of the NOLA Business Alliance Wednesday evening by New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and members of the group. Miller came to BRAC in December 2009; before that he handled economic development for the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. The New Orleans alliance of government and business leaders was formed last year. To fund its operations, the City of New Orleans will be contributing $1.5 million from its Economic Development Fund, and the private sector will contribute a minimum of $500,000 annually, according to the mayor’s office.
