Former Gov. Bobby Jindal has been floated as a possible replacement for former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, The New York Times reports.
Price resigned late Friday over his use of costly private jets at the expense of taxpayers.
Other candidates for the HHS job include Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb and Seema Verma, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator. Jindal who was assistant secretary of health and human services under President George W. Bush.
However, The Times reports Jindal is likely a long shot because of his harsh criticisms of President Donald Trump during his own short campaign for the White House in late 2015.
