Also Saturday, Pop Shop Records is hosting a grand opening celebration with a day of live music and good eats. The shop is located on Government Street in Mid City, in the former home of Atomic Pop Shop.

Festivities will kick off at noon with a blessing by Rev. Tommy Dillon and a sage cleansing, followed by live performances by artists such as Christina Ocmand and Frostbite. The Rakers, a self-proclaimed “thinking man’s drinking band,” will close out the day with a performance at 4 p.m. Patrons will be able to purchase food from a Latin-inspired pop-up concept by chef Sean Rivera.

Beginning Tuesday, Swine Palace brings its rendition of the popular musical Always…Patsy Cline to Baton Rouge’s Reilly Theatre.

The musical highlights the friendship between renowned country singer Patsy Cline and one of her avid fans, Louise Seger. The two met before Cline’s 1961 performance in Houston, where Seger lived. Within a matter of hours, they struck up a friendship that would last until Cline’s death in a tragic 1963 plane crash.

The musical includes performances of many of Cline’s most famous songs, including “Anytime,” “Walkin’ After Midnight” and “She’s Got You.” Tickets are $32 for adults, $22 for seniors and $19 for students. Purchase tickets. The musical runs through June 17.
