This Saturday, 14 prominent members of the Baton Rouge community will show off their best dance moves while shaking their tail feathers at the 12th annual Dancing for Big Buddy fundraiser.
Modeled after ABC’s hit show Dancing With the Stars, the event pairs a well-known community with a professional dancer to present a live ballroom performance. The event is among the weekend to-do headliners in the current Best of 225 This Week.
Participating community members this year include Antoinette Patterson, Brandon Saho, Dawn Starns, Gina Laird, James Peltier, Johnnie Hunt-Bond, Kristy McKearn, Mathew Laborde, Melissa Terito, Michael Uffman, Stephen David, Steve Sherman and Rubin and Manisha Patel.
The Big Buddy Program is a nonprofit that aims to provide positive role models and quality learning experiences for underserved youth in the Baton Rouge area.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased here.
Dancing for Big Buddy will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on LSU’s campus. Doors open at 6 p.m. Before the performance, guests can enjoy food, beer and wine provided by Beausoleil.
