Baton Rouge ranks among top 10 cities for fast-food spending

Baton Rouge is ranked ninth in the nation for spending on fast food. Business Insider based the list on how much and how frequently people in the 100 largest U.S. cities ate at eight of the largest national fast food restaurants, including McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Subway. Baton Rouge residents spent 1.3 times the national average on fast food restaurants and visited those chains 1.6 times the national average. Plano, Texas, topped the list, with residents spending 2.3 times as much on fast food and visiting those leading chains nearly 2.2 times the national average. Other cities in the top 10 were Madison, Wis.; Wichita, Kan., and Akron, Ohio. See the full report here.
