Baton Rouge’s two downtown riverboat casinos won nearly $16.7 million in April, a 2.5% increase over the year before. State police says this compares with the nearly $16.3 million the casinos won in April 2010. Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge continued to get the biggest share of the local gambling market, winning $10.4 million in April. That’s a 1.8% increase over the $10.2 million the casino won in April 2010. The Belle of Baton Rouge posted the biggest gain, winning nearly $6.3 million, a 3.7% increase over the more than $6 million the casino won in April 2010. Overall, Louisiana’s state-licensed casinos won $202.5 million last month—a 1% increase from April a year ago.
