A barre3 fitness studio is set to open in Acadian Village at 3535 Perkins Road, Suite 380, by early 2017, though an official opening date has yet to be set.
Owner Nicole Cummins, 33, signed the lease for the space—currently occupied by Studio 7 next to Kean’s—about two weeks ago, says Michelle Jahnke, public relations director for barre3.
Ransom Pipes of Maestri-Murrell says Cummins will take possession of the space on Oct. 1. The space will be refit for barre3 Baton Rouge, says Pipes, who represented barre3 Baton Rouge in the deal. Hilary Bransford with Vintage Realty represented Acadian Village.
Barre3 combines yoga, pilates and ballet for a full body workout.
The new franchise is the first barre3 fitness studio to open in the Capital City. Other Louisiana locations are in uptown and downtown New Orleans and in Metairie.
Jahnke says barre3 Baton Rouge is in the beginning stages of opening in Baton Rouge and more information will be released as the grand opening gets closer.
Studio 7 has control of the space until the end of the month.
