B.R. foreclosure rate up in June, still below national average

Foreclosures in Baton Rouge increased marginally in June compared to a year ago, according to CoreLogic, with 2.38% of all home mortgages in some stage of foreclosure. In June 2010 the foreclosure rate was at 2.25%. Even with the increase, the Baton Rouge rate is more than a percentage point lower than the national average, 3.46%, and is also slightly lower than the state average of 2.56%. On another promising note, the percentage of home loans that are more than 90 days delinquent in Baton Rouge fell to 5.4 % in June, compared to 5.8% last year.
