The Louisiana Public Facilities Authority Board of Trustees has approved up to $10 million in bond financing for a renewable fuel production facility in St. Gabriel. Cetane Renewable Energy Products Iberville will produce diesel fuel from used oil and other petroleum-based waste. Cetane does the process with a proprietary catalytic converter, and the fuel produced has a molecular structure that mirrors that of newly refined diesel. Cetane plans to produce 12 million gallons of diesel per year through the process. The company says it will hire 20 full-time employees at the St. Gabriel plant and have an annual payroll of $1.1 million.
