A6 says all three of the finalists for East Baton Rouge Parish school superintendent are “well-qualified.” Michael Trufant, a spokesman for A6, says the organization intends to send a very strong signal to the school board that it supports John Covington, John Dilworth and Bonita Coleman-Potter.
Meanwhile, the Academic Distinction Fund is set to present the information it collected about the candidates at a press conference this morning at D Jon’s Restaurant. The group traveled to each of the finalists’ current city to interview people and find out what steps were being taken to improve the education system. A luncheon with Covington will be at noon today, a similar meeting with Dilworth will be Tuesday and with Coleman-Potter on Wednesday.
