Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications • Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership
Morgan Almeida wants Baton Rouge to tell a better story about itself—and she has helped give it the tools.
At the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership, she developed and launched Better in BTR, a community pride and talent attraction campaign whose creative storytelling has earned multiple Addy Awards. Its ambition extends beyond recruiting newcomers: helping people already here recognize a place worth staying.
She also led the organization’s transition from the Baton Rouge Area Chamber to the Greater Baton Rouge Economic Partnership, aligning its identity with its regional mission. An overhaul of its website and marketing tool kit strengthened how it competes for economic development projects.
Almeida brings that same instinct for connection to civic life. As Forum 225’s former president, a co-organizer of TEDxBatonRouge and an Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge board member, she has helped create platforms for young professionals, ideas and culture.
How I recognize a great hire: “It’s more a question I ask myself: Does this person make me excited to think out loud? In a creative field, I not only need reliable execution, but also someone whose energy makes it easy to brainstorm messy, half-formed ideas and get excited about what they could become.”
Something I’m surprisingly good at: “Creating very specific themes for parties. Give me a birthday, a baby shower or a random excuse to celebrate and I will develop an unnecessarily detailed theme and commit to it completely.”
