Mid City is the place to be this weekend, as White Light Night returns to Mid City for its annual evening event showcasing neighborhood merchants and area artists.

As 225 Weekender reports, more than 50 businesses along the Government Street corridor known as the Mid City Art & Design Cultural District are participating in the event this year, including Atomic Pop Shop, Sally’s Circa 1857, Caffery Gallery, Brew Ha-Ha!, Radio Bar and many others. They’ll all be open from 6 to 10 p.m on Friday for the annual White Light Night art hop.

White Light Night has been an annual staple in Mid City since 1998. New in recent years is the addition of live music at most venues. Some of this year’s participants will also feature live art and food. A free shuttle is available for patrons to bustle up and down Government Street during the event. Original artworks will be sold tax-free due to the neighborhood’s cultural district designation.
