Tiffi’s Bakery just opened on Jefferson Highway, serving up pastries, cake balls, iced cookies and a different batch of cupcake flavors every week.

225 staff writer Kaci Yoder has a sweet tooth and loves to bake, which makes her perfectly suited to take readers on a tour of Tiffi’s in the new 225 Dine e-newsletter. In short, she knows what to look for when it comes to specialty sweets.

“I decided to sample some of the cupcake varieties of the moment: cinnamon roll, cookie monster, s’mores and a dulce de leche recommended highly by the owner,” Yoder writes, giving insight to the bakery’s offerings.

The cinnamon roll cupcake is more of a muffin in texture with icing that’s “a spot-on nostalgia trip for the guilty pleasure Pillsbury cinnamon rolls from the supermarket,” Yoder says.

“From a quick sampling, it tastes like Tiffi’s has the flavors and the skills to be a worthy addition to Baton Rouge’s sweets scene,” she concludes.
