The Business Report Calendar is open to events of general interest to the Capital Region businesses community. Items must be submitted no later than noon the Friday before the event occurs. E-mail tboone@businessreport.com with information.

Monday -- State Rep. Franklin Foil will hold a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bluebonnet Library. This is one of a pair of meetings Foil is holding in advance of the upcoming Legislative session, which starts April 27. For more information, call Foil's office at 342-6777.

Tuesday -- Dan Juneau, LABI president, will be the guest speaker at the ACG Louisiana's monthly luncheon. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at LSU's Lod Cook Alumni Center. Admission is free for members and $50 per guest. For more information, click here.

April 15 -- Kean Miller will host a Labor and Employment Law Seminar at the White Oak Conference Center from 7:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The free event will cover topics such as the legal considerations of reducing staffing, the proposed Employee Free Choice Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. April 16 -- The Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors will hold its annual Trends Seminar beginning at 8 a.m. at BREC's Independence Park Theatre. Admission is $50 in advance, $60 at the door. For more information, or to register, go to batonrougetrends.com.

April 21 -- LSU Executive Education will host its first “Breakfast to Business” event at Café Américain on Jefferson Highway. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the event begins at 7:30 a.m. Robert Newman, chairman of the Department of Economics at LSU, will be the guest speaker, providing an assessment of the economic impact the stimulus plan will have on the local, regional and national level. Registration is $25.

April 23 -- Business Report and Junior Achievement will hold their 26th annual Business Awards banquet at 7 p.m. in the Crowne Plaza Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn Select). The event honors the top businesses and business leaders of the year, including inductees into the Business Hall of Fame. April 24 -- The Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual awards banquet at 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (formerly Holiday Inn Select). Jackie Beauchamp, CEO of Nerjyzed Entertainment, will be the guest speaker at the event, which also marks the 5th anniversary of the BRBCC. For tickets, click here.
