Forming a bond
North Oaks Hospice of Hammond and the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation have partnered to provide care and compassion to individuals with life-limiting illnesses. The new partnership will strengthen the services offered by the Richard Murphy Hospice House, which is scheduled for completion this summer.
Branching out
United Community Bank, which is locally owned, managed and operated, is opening a branch on Coursey Boulevard, bringing the total number of locations to six. The management team at the branch includes Julie Bourgeois, Patrick Bourg and Claire Chifici. UCB was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Ascension Parish.
New name, same history
Fidelity Homestead Association, which was founded in 1908, has changed its name to Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank to better reflect its business and service offerings. New signs have been installed, and a new Web site has been launched.
What’s your destination?
Destination Maternity will open in June at the Bluebonnet Parc Shopping Center. The store will feature designer maternity brands, nursing apparel, accessories, gifts, a juice bar, a soft-sided kiddie corral, a plasma television and oversized easy chairs.
LOSFA’s gain
The U.S. Department of Education has authorized a temporary arrangement for Educational Credit Management Corporation to supply necessary financial and administrative support to the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance through Sept. 30, 2009 to address financial and operational issues related to the unprecedented volume of student loan default claims brought about by the impact of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
On the agenda
Louisiana Associated General Contractors has developed a two-tiered system featuring a political arm as well as a programs and administration arm. The goal is to give the association more visibility in the political arena, creating an opportunity to enhance their legislative program and push their legislative agendas year round.
