Zolia Bistro, the restaurant and wine bar on the ground floor of II City Plaza downtown, has closed. But restaurateur Louis DeAngelo says the closure is only temporary and that the restaurant is still available for private events.

DeAngelo declines to discuss why Zolia is closed or for how long. He will say only that “we are temporarily closed to regroup on a few things and are still doing a lot of private events. It’s a great venue for that.”

DeAngelo, who opened the 2,400-square-foot Zolia in 2011, also owns the Louis DeAngelo’s Casual Italian Dining chain. Earlier this year, the DeAngelo’s restaurant at 7970 Jefferson Hwy. closed. In 2011, the Lee Drive location closed. DeAngelo’s, founded in 1991, currently has six locations in operation in the Capital Region and Lake Charles.
