Australian-born LSU punter Brad Wing has been named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his play at West Virginia Saturday, where he punted six times for a 48.7-yard average to assist in LSU’s 47-21 win. All six of Wing’s punts were downed inside the 20-yard line. West Virginia’s started possessions at its own 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 11 yard line following Wing’s punts, none of which were returned. His long punt of 60 yards pinned West Virginia inside its 5-yard line. Wing’s 66.67 percentage of punts (8-of-12) downed inside the 20-yard line this season leads the SEC. Saturday’s win boosted LSU to No. 1 in The Associated Press poll.
