Ann Williamson, the former head of the state Department of Social Services, has been named as a vice president of public policy for the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations. Williamson will head up the Louisiana Budget Project, which monitors state spending and how it affects poor and moderate-income families in Louisiana. This is her second stint with LANO; Williamson was assistant director from 1998 to 2000. She was head of DSS from January 2004 to September 2008. Williamson was named one of Business Report’s Influential Women in Business in 2008 and was a Forty Under 40 winner in 2004.
