The plans to demolish a hotel at Reiger Road and Siegen Lane intersection to build a new hotel, fast food restaurant and coffee shop are temporarily on hold.
Curtis Chaney of Louisiana Land Surveying Inc. submitted an application to the planning commission in May to subdivide the 4-acre tract on Reiger Road, where the Heritage Inn and Suites is located.
The Planning Commission agenda shows that Chaney withdrew the application. The commission was initially scheduled to discuss proposed plans for the commercial development at its July meeting, but it was deferred to August.
Chaney told Daily Report revisions to the proposal are necessary and won’t be complete in time for the meeting deadline. As a result, withdrew the application with plans to reapply later. Chaney did not disclose the changes.
The application lists ANJ Real Estate LLC as the property owner. Secretary of State records list Raj Patel as the company’s registered agent. The LLC’s registered address in Louisiana is where the Heritage Inn and Suites on Reiger Road is located.
Patel could not be reached for comment ahead of this afternoon’s deadline.
