Pelican Credit Union has nearly tripled in size since 2017. Its president, Melissa Ott, attributes that swell primarily to “organic growth” rather than to mergers. The Baton Rouge-based credit union had $838 million in assets as of July, up from $333.9 million at the end of 2017 and $527 million at the end of 2020.
