Steve Webb Jr. will take over as the next president and CEO of Baton Rouge-based Neighbors Federal Credit Union later this year, Neighbors announced this morning.
Webb, an LSU graduate, has served as COO of Neighbors since 2008 and was the credit union’s first employee to earn a Certified Credit Union Executive designation from the CUES CEO Institute. His promotion is effective on Dec. 1.
“Being led by Steve Webb, the executive leadership team has never been stronger,” says outgoing CEO Kathi Gill, who announced her retirement in early September, in a prepared statement. “Our credit union will continue to be ‘Member Focused, Community Committed’ as we welcome endless opportunities for continued success.“
Webb has served in several different management capacities during his past 25 years. Some highlights of his career with Neighbors include developing and launching the indirect lending program, member business lending and the lending call center.
The credit union says he has also been an integral part of facilities management, which includes oversight of the remodeling of the Sherwood, Perkins and Goodwood branches as well as the opening of Prairieville and Coursey Boulevard offices.
“I cannot fathom a more talented and amazing team of professionals other than the team already assembled at Neighbors, and I look forward to the opportunities that await us,” says Webb, who also serves as treasurer for the Mental Health Association for Greater Baton Rouge, in a prepared statement.
Neighbors has a dozen branch locations throughout the Capital Region.
