After four years leading the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, Kathy Stuart has resigned her position as executive director to take a job as southeast Louisiana field representative for U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy. The chamber is beginning its search today for a new leader.
“Kathy has had some wonderful accomplishments during her time here, and she really raised the bar on our approach to economic development for West Baton Rouge Parish and the chamber,” says chamber board chairman Scott Gaudin. “Now we’re looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about our culture and a champion of economic development to carry her work forward.”
Gaudin says the chamber began the search today by passing along a job description to state associations such as the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations.
“We’re going to reach statewide and along the Gulf with the search,” Gaudin says.
All interested applicants are being asked to submit their materials for consideration by April 1, with the chamber board hoping to fill the vacancy as soon as possible. In the interim, the chamber’s executive board will handle the duties of the executive director, Gaudin says.
