Sales at the Crescent, an upscale condominium development on Stanford Avenue, topped $60 million in 2008. Developer Mike Wampold says 115 of the units in the development have been sold. “That shows people are continuing to buy, even in slower times,” he says. Fifty units in the Crescent are still available, mostly units in the $300,000 range. Officials have said buyers are evenly split between full-time residents and people who want a condo for LSU events.—Timothy Boone
