There’s mounting speculation in Shreveport that Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar is the new title sponsor of the Independence Bowl, a postseason college football game played each year in northwest Louisiana.

Former LSU running back and Walk-On’s partner Jacob Hester tweeted on Monday that Walk-On’s would underwrite the game, but later deleted the tweet, The Shreveport Times reports. The move also was announced by local radio show hosts.

Brandon Landry, Walk-On’s founder and CEO, would not confirm the information for Daily Report. However, The Independence Bowl Foundation has called a press conference for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walk-On’s Shreveport restaurant.

The Independence Bowl is the 11th oldest bowl game and has been without a sponsor since Camping World opted out of sponsoring the game two years into a four-year agreement last year. Walk-On’s would be the Independence Bowl’s ninth title sponsor in the past 27 years.
